Like all the best music, Borg’s medieval folk/dungeon synth rewards both distracted and focused attention. Listening feels like eavesdropping on a slightly creepy festival staged in a tiny Dark Ages-era town on the edge of a vast, black forest. I love the occasional goofiness, but also the uneasy darkness hidden just beneath the surface of the tunes; the momentary joy that makes a lifetime of toil and suffering worthwhile.
